Michelle Audoin

Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG)

Michelle Audoin is a passionate patient advocate committed to advancing equity in cancer care. Drawing from her living experience with metastatic breast cancer and thyroid cancer, her initial works sought to highlight the disparities Black, Indigenous, and women of colour face when navigating a diagnosis and treatment. She continues to work towards ensuring under supported patient voices are meaningfully represented in research and healthcare.

After attending her first cancer conference several years ago, Michelle recognized the transformative power of collaboration between researchers and patient advocates. She believes knowledge empowers patients—not only to understand cancer biology but to help shape research priorities and treatment innovation. Understanding the reciprocal nature of these relationships, Michelle partners closely with the research community. She serves as Patient Representative Chair at the Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG). She also contributes to initiatives with OICR PFAC, 3CTN, All.Can Canada, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Women’s College Hospital, bringing lived expertise to support more inclusive and accessible clinical trials and research.

With a background as an elementary school teacher, Michelle is a forever an educator who shares her story through panels, podcasts, and awareness campaigns. She supports people affect by cancer at Brooksong Retreat and Cancer Support Centre. Michelle is especially proud to be the mother of two compassionate children who inspire her and support her advocacy work.
