What to Expect

The Canadian Global Oncology Network (CGON) brings together Canadian institutions and stakeholders to advance equitable cancer care worldwide. Guided by the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control, the network inspires collaboration, mobilizes knowledge and drives a pan-Canadian approach to addressing global cancer disparities. Our annual conference provides a unique platform for sharing emerging research in global oncology, fostering partnerships between Canadian organizations, engaging key stakeholders, and discussing emerging challenges in global oncology.

The 2026 Conference will be held in-person only March 23rd and 24th in Toronto Ontario. It is co-hosted by the Princess Margaret Global Cancer Program and the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health. The theme for the conference is “Transforming Health Systems through Global Oncology”, reflecting the growing recognition that investments in cancer control can serve as catalysts for broader health system strengthening and innovation.

The event program will include a variety of in-person keynote speakers and plenary panel sessions covering themes in health systems strengthening through global oncology work. It will also feature networking sessions with Canadian faculty and trainees in global oncology.
